Madelines Memory

A Little Bit About.....

My photo
Madeline was my grandmother on my mother's side. She was an amazing little Irish woman. How blessed we were to have her. Not a day goes by that I don't miss her. I am the wife of my bestfriend, the mother of four amazing kids ages 25, 22, 17 and 4. I am a grandma to 2 beautiful little boys and the mom-in-law to a terrific man. I come from a big wonderful family. My parents are my idols. My dad was always the silent one and my mom was the "tough" one. I have so much admiration for them and love being their daughter. I have 4 sisters and one brother, but I only have 3 surviving sisters now. My sister Michele passed away suddenly in 1989. I married into an amazing Italian family. I believe in God and Angels, and Ghosts. Not bad ones, but ones that just can't decide if they should stay or go. I believe that if you want something bad enough, you just need to believe and it will be yours. I believe that everyone means something to someone and this life without you would be miserable.

Pink Saturday

Hello Friends and Happy Pink Saturday.

I have had quite a busy week. My youngest daughter turned 16 on Thursday!! yikes where did those 16 years go? Emily is such a beautiful person both inside and out. She is so caring and loving....but she is also 1/2 Italian and is pretty Hot tempered too, just like her daddy!! She decided for her birthday dinner that she wanted me to make home made turkey burgers, french fries and broccoli slaw salad. Quite a tasty meal if I do say so. And on Saturday we will be going to Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park for the day. We haven't been there in a while so we are pretty excited. It will be little Gio's first time and we keep telling him that he will get to see Snoopy (who is the "mascot" there) and that he is going to ride some really fun rides...which he loves!! Can't wait.
I found these pictures on my computer folder...not sure how they got there, but thought they were so pretty and Pink!!
Thank you once again Beverly @ How Sweet The Sound for hosting us once again and I hope you all have a "Pink" Saturday......

Happy Halloween Birthday to my Dad

Today is my dad's 88th birthday.....doesn't he look amazing?
My dad is such an amazing person. He is so caring and giving, never thinking of himself before others. He and my mom have been married for 68? years and I can only remember them arguing one time (and that was pretty devestating- even though it only lasted about 5 minutes).
I love my parents so very much and I am so proud to be their daughter.
I love you dad, Happy Birthday

Late for Pink Saturday

So sorry my friends, but I am late posting once again.
I have had a hard week. On Thursday I stayed home from work with a Horrific migraine...and I still feel as though I am weak from it. Uugghh.
Well, I am ready for Fall and the leaves to turn....although where I live that doesn't really happen, so I thought these images would suffice.
Happy Fall to you all and a lovely Pink Saturday. (Thank you Beverly @ How Sweet the Sound)

Pink Saturday

It is Pink Saturday once again...and I am soooo ready to get "cozy" in some cooler Fall weather. However, this weekend is going to be in the triple digits again!!! I love the summer, but I am really looking forward to some cooler weather and the holidays!!
I would just love to slip into these Pink jammies and curl up under a nice comfy blanket on the couch.

Or if I need to run some errands, this Pink Hoodie would be nice too.

Thank you again, Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for hosting Pink Saturday. And I hope you all have a Pink Weekend.

Pink Saturday and Here I Am.......

I am so sorry all of my blogging friends, I have not been too involved with my blog lately and I certainly have been a terrible Pink Saturday participant (or non-participant). All is well with me, but it just seems that my little 2 year old has been keeping me soooo preoccupied that I haven't had time to do much.
We recently made a trip up to Modesto to welcome home our Hero, my nephew Frankie, from Iraq. My sister Marcia was such an amazing hostess and party planner for the occasion. Her pictures of her little red cottage DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE. She has done such wonderful things to her little home and it is truly a welcoming place to be.
My niece, Maggie and her husband Glen recently purchased a home in Modesto and they were so generous to allow us to stay there for the weekend......Maggie told me that they had not even stayed there yet!! WOW, how sweet and giving is that!?
It was also the first time we got to see our little Julie Mae in person.....she really is an absolute beauty. (as you can see)

I hope you all have an amazing Pink Saturday and I will really try to visit more often.

Pink Saturday Once again

For this Pink Saturday I thought I would show you my beautiful children, niece and special friends.
These pictures were taken at my niece's wedding back in early summer. They had this fabulous photobooth set up and everyone enjoyed it. If you or anyone you know is getting married....you must include a photobooth.
I just ADORE my family and with my daughter Aarika holding the PINK heart, these are just perfect.
Thank you Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for another PINK SATURDAY.
To all of you, ENJOY

I Got Some Fabulous Treasures For Pink Saturday

I had a wonderful week off this week. The dental office I work in always closes for a week in the summer and a week at Christmas. Unfortunately, I was the only one in my family on vacation, so it was just me and my little man for most days. We did manage to get down to the beach on Friday....but it was pretty darn cold!! 67 degrees and very overcast. But the way I see it, no matter how bad the day is at the beach, it still beats a day where I live. ha, ha, ha.
This pink Saturday I am sharing the lovely treasures my sister sent me.....She always has such great things to share on her blog and I am always so envious. She was sweet enough to locate some beautiful things for me and here they are....

This little apron is soooo adorable. It has puckering and the little pocket almost looks like a heart

I just LOVE this statue of the Blessed Mother...the little rosary bracelet has very light pink beads on it.

This bar of soap (which I will only keep for display)has such a yummy Rosemary scent and is very Frenchy

And last but not least are these 3 coasters tied with pink toule (sp). I am one of those people that does not like to untie my little packages....to me it looses something when you do.

I hope you all enjoyed my treasures from my sister Marcia (Vintage Frenchhen) as much as I do.
Thank you my beautiful sister dear and thank you to our wonderful hostess Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/for another fabulous Pink Saturday.

Pink Saturday for My Sister

My sister, Marcia at vintagefrenchhen.blogspot.com always has such amazing pink items (along with just about everything else she blogs about). You really must go and check her blog out....I am so very jealous(and she is also having a giveaway of some fabulous things, so be sure to sign up). She is having a wonderful time right now with her son, Frankie who just got back for his 3rd? 4th? tour in Iraq. We are all so happy he has come home to us safe and sound. This blog is in honor of her today. She has always been one of my very best friends and I am so blessed to have her as my sister. She has such amazing talent when it comes to decorating her adorable little "Red Cottage" and she is such a sweet and kind person, everyone adores her. She is an amazing cook and had her own little catering business for a while. Some of the foods she comes up with I would never even have imagined, but she did take after our aunt in that respect (some of us thought she may have been adopted since the majority of us in the family are your common, everyday cooks except for her)
My sister is about 8 years older than I am (I am #6 and she is #5 in the line up and I was an accident for sure), but for most of our lives we have been very close. She was always there for me when I needed someone and I was always at her house- especially when her children were small. She has such an amazing relationship with her kids and they love her so much.
Marcia is the only one of us kids that live close enough to our parents to help them out when they need it. And although we all know how tough that can be... she always has the right thing to say or the right thing to bring when needed.
I know this really has nothing to do with PINK SATURDAY and I really have just gone on and on, but my sister is very special to me and I just wanted All of you to know.
Happy Pink Saturday and thank you Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/

What a way to spend a summer day

Oh how I love being a mommy. I spent another fabulous afternoon with my two girls, my grandson and my little man.
Giovani thought he was just so cool wearing his shades and floating around the pool. At one point I seriously thought he was going to fall asleep.
As you can see, Giovani really enjoyed the water today

A new computer, but too late for Pink Saturday

Hello Friends,
I had computer troubles this week and so I didn't get to sign up for Pink Saturday....sooooo sad. But now we have a new laptop and I am on my way to blogging once again.
Although I am not a part of Pink Saturday this week, I did want to get a little Pink in anyways.

Here are two of my favorite little boys in their new little pool (with a pink top ring).
It was hot today and since my grandson, Aidin was over we decided to take a little dip.....aaahhh summer.
Enjoy

Murrieta's Birthday Bash...and Stevie Nicks

Well, the birthday bash was a big success. The city of Murrieta put on another great bash this year. I did manage to be a little more like Martha Stewart(with some Rachel thrown in) by making hummus dip, cut up veggies, cupcakes (which I did not decorate like the flag, but did buy little flag picks to put in them....but didn't) and then bought fried chicken, pasta salad and pea salad. I also brought pears and brie and a case of water. We had a great time and it wasn't quite as hot this year as it has been in the past soooooo...that was even better.
The Fireworks, as always, were spectacular especially when you sit right underneath them!!

The very BEST part of the day was when the main band was playing and was about 3/4 into their set...the lead singer started talking about how he and this woman were friends and how she had come and sang with him in the past. We were all half listening when the next thing out of his mouth was "Please welcome Miss Stevie Nicks!" What? What did he just say? Stevie Nicks? In Murrieta? Needless to say I and my hubby made a beeline for the stage, camera in hand and with eyes wide and singing along to "Stop Draggin my Heart Around" I got these pics (my camera is a little slow so I got her back a lot)

I am sorry I didn't take any pics of the food, my kids or the people there. I don't know what I was thinking....but I think these were the biggest things that day.
I hope you all have a great week and I will see on Pink Saturday

No Pink Saturday.....

Well, I have once again missed pink Saturday. I feel like I am always chasing my tail trying to keep up.
Ohhhh welllll....
Today we are going to the park to celebrate the 19th Birthday of our town becoming a city. (I guess that is one of the perks of living in a small town).
It is going to be fun, fun, fun. There is going to be food boothes, rides for the kids, music and in the end a HUGE fireworks display.
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what to "make" for food (you know how pricey those boothes can be). One of my friends is going and she is the next Martha Stewart...soooo I need to bring my A game!! (if you know me, well you know I don't have an A game). I will be buying fried chicken and pea salad, sushi rolls and bottled water!! I did manage to make some homemade hummus with veggies and some strawberry cupcakes that I "plan" to decorate like the American flag...we shall see!!
I also plan on bringing Brie and pears....hhhhmmmm. I am more Rachel Rey rather than good old Martha.
Here are a few shots of the fireworks from last years celebration.
Happy Birthday Murrieta!!!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend

EARTHQUAKE!!!

YIKES!!!!

I live in Southern California and I absolutely love it here....except for Earthquakes. I know they happen all over the world, but we have had sooooo many recently that I am getting really nervous. I work out of the home 3 days a week, not too far, but far enough and I am on the 3rd floor of a really old building. I don't want to be away from my children if and when the big one hits!!! I know I cannot live in hiding, but man oh man....I have to just not think about it or I will go nuts!
My hunny and I were grocery shopping last night when we had another one.....I couldn't feel the ground moving, but all of the shelves were swaying and rocking. I was trying to debate, do I stay put? Or run like a crazy woman out of the building? Needless to say, I stayed, just made sure I was in the center of the isle in case anything jumped off of the shelves!! Whew, nothing fell.
Of course my hunny had taken the little one to wash his hands in the bathroom and didn't even know that we had just had an earthquake......MEN!!!!
Today is my day off and since my daughter is out of school this week (summer school starts next week) we are going to the beach. I really need some sunshine and just to "chill". I just hope the "Big One" doesn't hit and cause a sunami!!! EEEKKKK. I hope you all have a wonderful week and wish me luck!!!

A Little Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday to Everyone

I was so busy yesterday with having my little grandson for the day, that I didn't really get to concentrate on what I was going to post for today.

Since it is late spring and summer is fast approaching, I decided to do a search for butterflies.....and pink ones. I just love butterflies. They are so graceful and they make me happy when I see them.

While searching for them I found this cute, cute apron. I have got to find out where to buy it....isn't it sweet???

Then while wearing my "new pink apron" I would maybe bake a pink butterfly cake (baahahahahaha) anyways....

Or....I could just stop and smell the roses

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your Pink Saturday too.
Thank you Beverly http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
